FAQ
Question: There are many Photographers who offer "Mini Sessions" that are cheeper then their regular Photo Shoots. Is there a specific reason you do not offer this service to potential clients?
Answer: Yes of course, there is always a reason. My personal view on "Mini Session" is that while many photographers offer this service, overall many of these "Photographers" are not Professionals and for someone with atrained eye can immediately spot the lack of quality. Photographers who offer these types of session are usually in 30 minutes or less "sessions." and they are very rushed. they have an "assmbly line" of clients showing up. These sessions are very impersonal. My own personal view is that while my sessions might have higher rates, the difference is going to be in the overall "experience" and the quality of of the product that is delivered. I prefer and truly enjoy every interaction that I have with a client so that I may be able to provude them with images that capture a moment that has been frozen in time. My hope is they will, from time to time, view the images and relive the fun and the memory that has been captured.
Question: Why do you require a non-refundable deposit when booking a Photo Shoot?
Answer: The booking process has challanges for any Photographer. When a client books a session, I make it a priority to either speak with them over the phone, meet with them in person or exchange a series of emails/texts in order to get a clear vision of what type of Photo Shoot they would like to experience. I take notes and begin to build a Shoot Profile which includes; identifying a location; outfit suggestions and other small details. This process requires a "time" Investment on my behalf once an agreement has been reached. A shoot date is then set and I block off that time on my calander. Now yes I understand, sometimes things change and a client might later, before the shoot date, chage their mind and cancel the shoot. That is their right, but what about the "time" investment i already set aside in preparation? And also I must factor in that I may not be able to fill in that now "lost" shoot time slot with someone else. So this is the reason for the non-refundable deposit and is explained and discussed with full disclosure in the beginning.
Question: Why do you offer a discount if your session is paid in cash as opposed to card transaction?
Answer: In simple terms, when using a card transaction there will always be fees involved on the bussiness end. So I offer this discount to not only make my sessions a little cheeper for the client but to balance out some of the costs I will incur with card payment transactions.
